LOL!

Over the years I have encountered people from all walks of life. I have taught workshops to people I would never see as my target market. From grandmother to Professors and special child to immature adults, these all brilliant souls and a gift to my own growth.

I am proud to be able impart a system of knowledge and experience that emphasized on personal empowerment. The key to real personal liberation as compared to sourcing from without to satisfied ones need and neediness.

The way that I teach is ORGANIC, I do not believed in modalities that encourage a person to manipulate or try to fix things in others. As far as I am concern those modality can be a major hindrance in ones own evolution of consciousness. Doesn't matter if you are a practitioner or patient/client. "You are what you use as a tool!", a bit like you are what you eat, you consume that style of work everyday and that is what you will become. I allow the process to unfold, trusting that the dynamic of each other's presence will facilitate the change process; which is guided by a higher order of congruency and well being. In contrast some people like to be told what to do and how to be, that why some students find it hard to follow in the beginning. Yet it is not worth compromising the opportunity to "realised" oneself.

I take no bullshit from others who only believed in empowering themselves and blowing out the candle of others so that they can shine in the dark, no matter how subtle it may be. I gain my respect from others by showing them their own capability and capacity. Experienced therapists and teachers are not itimidated by my presence as I don't see them less other than who they are, creating a space for them to grow and taking that leap of faith.

When you can trust greater forces of within and without, which is the same anyway, you can create more room for others to evolve and isn't that the objective doing what I'm doing in the first place?

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://voicesofcornelius.blogspot.com/2011/03/its-all-about-me-lol.html' title='It's all about me..... I've been setting aside this blog for my personal voice and beliefs, as I do believed strongly that everyone is entitled to their own. Living in your own truth and individuality does not mean that you have to violate others' rights and freedom. You can simply be in your own truth and be contented with it.

For so many "eons" I have seen people standing up for their own truth by stepping on the truth of others. Some we call dictators and some we simply termed candle blower. When your light is out they shine brightly.

Yet we are living in a time or to be more precise the reality of change. Change is fast and inevitable! Yet some people have chosen to hold on to their old truth (e.g. Gaddafi or Charlie Sheen) and had been deemed to a bit off by the general public. Not to mention those who suffers from their actions of upholding their own truth. Nevertheless this is a good time for all of us to reevaluate our own reality, our own thinking patterns, our style of perceptions; are they still valid?

How can we achieve harmony within ourselves and with others, in a world that "we" still exist as a collective? Don't you see all is one and one is all? Going against one is going against all, and going against all is going against the self. You'll never be happy in fighting for that truth, rather start re-examine your truth. This is not asking you to change YOU but asking you to change your perception towards your reality. Don't get it wrong the world that you might have perceived IS NOT YOU!

It all comes back to what is reality as what we might have perceived as reality is so uncertain. Your body is going through millions of chemical reaction each seconds and you think that botox can be a permanent solution? Trying to stop the ageing process is like denying the grace of God.

Let the truth unfold in front of you as you allow yourself to be aware of your true state of being. Since the very beginning before Jesus, Buddha, or other enlighten beings; the calling has been the same and never changed. Let there be light! A sense of awakening to the true state of who we are that has never changed through eons; limitless, ageless, beyond good and bad (right or wrong), complete and contented.

ZEITGEIST: MOVING FORWARD | OFFICIAL RELEASE | 2011

Repost: Broke and broken – should P. Ramlee documentary on the History Channel on 31st October 2010 must have gone to bed with a heavy heart. It transpires that Malaysia’s one and only film icon had died penniless and shunned by the public including his own colleagues. And the way it was done appears to have uncanny resemblances to what’s happening today in Malaysia, almost 45 years after Ramlee returned to Malaysia.

The documentary, narrated by British actor, Timothy Watson and 12 years in-the-making included precious interviews by some of his friends, actors and actresses who had passed on. The underlying tone was one of profound melancholy.

Ramlee, born out of poverty along Caunter Hall Road at an Achenese community in Penang , had to endure a brutal Japanese occupation whose schools incidentally inculcated a certain discipline in him. In his formative years then, this discipline proved crucial as a founding platform for his eventual brilliance, creativity and innovation in film and music.

He subsequently gained phenomenal success at Shaw Brother’s Jalan Ampas studios in Singapore. His success at Jalan Ampas was the apparent result of the studio’s incredible milieu of experienced film crew, choreographers and directors which the Shaw Brothers had assembled from India, Hong Kong and Indonesia. With the load of management and finance off his shoulders, Ramlee was able to thrive and focus on his talent of creating music, acting and eventually direction, screenplay and editing.

The Shaw Brothers invested and created such a conducive environment at Ampas that Singapore became the mecca for the Malay film industry for an entire genre of actors and actresses from the whole of the Malay Archipelago from Pontianak, Penang to Medan. Apart from Ramlee, Ampas provided careers for other actors and actresses like Nordin Ahmad, S. Kadarisman, Ahmad Daud, Normadiah, Saloma and Saadiah.

But this talent could not have been developed without the expertise of directors such as B.S.Rajan, L. Krishnan and Phani Majumdar. Directors such as Majumdar already had something like 15 years’ experience in directing films in various languages in Calcutta and Bombay before they came to Singapore. It was on this wealth of experience that the Malay film industry flourished.

Majumdar directed Ramlee in “Anakku Sazali” which won Ramlee Best Actor in 1956. And when Majumdar returned to India, he discovered another great Indian actor, Feroz Khan and directed Khan in his first big hit “Oonche Log” in 1965. Yes it was happy times then at No.8 Jalan Ampas and Boon Kheng Road. But it had to end. Or so it seems.

Things appear to have taken a turn for the worse during the confusion of the Malaysia-Singapore separation in 1963 when Lee Kuan Yew had trouble reining a tight leash on trade unions involving Lim Chin Siong, and his own PAP leaders led by Che’Awang and Devan Nair. Ramlee appears to have been an inadvertent victim of the unions’ unreasonable demands leading Shaw Brothers to call it a day at Jalan Ampas when they couldn’t keep up with union demands for higher pay.

Other views suggest that Ramlee was poached and enticed to return to Malaysia which he did in 1964. Wrong step it seems. All promises “back home in Malaysia” were not kept by his new masters. Sounds very very familiar here. Merdeka studios was poorly equipped and its rookie staffing meant the legend had to multitask which ended up eventually in him churning out shoddy movies. All 18 movies he directed in Malaysia flopped. Sounds like the same stories we hear from some of our Malaysians “trying” to return home from overseas.

Ramlee lost his glitter, his money and apparently also his fame. His partner and colleague, H.M. Shah, tried to form a company called PERFIMA to enable Ramlee to relaunch his career and produce his dream of colour films. But PERFIMA apparently ended up in the hands of inexperienced and connected cronies leaving the talented Ramlee then, as in now, even as a Malay, blatantly unrecognized, ignored and out in the cold.

The documentary brutally exposes how Ramlee tried in vain to set up P. Ramlee Productions, but was again shut out by this country’s media and entertainment industry including RTM. He had to sit in the canteen at Ankasapuri while Saloma had her own show in RTM! He could not secure any government aid, grants or “Private Financial Initiatives” despite his passion for Malay music and culture.

He tried to reinvent himself and sought a bank loan – but was rejected! With his wealth of experience and in his early 40s then, he should have easily qualified. Poor Ramlee didn’t know that in Malaysia it is the “know who” that counts then the “know how”. If he had known George Tan from the Carrian Group then, Ramlee may have received a few millions from BMF without even having to pay back. Or he should have “nurtured” some connections like how Daim, Halim Saad, Tajuddin Ramli, Syed Mokhtar and Amin Shah did.

Ramlee by now, tragically stressed out, overweight, dishevelled, completely down and out with passion and spirit broken, had to now do almost any job he could including running mahjong tables and singing at weddings and other functions to put food on the table for his family. He had to live on rice and eggs. It was truly Air Mata di Kuala Lumpur for Ramlee. A court summons a day prior to his death for being a guarantor finally tipped the balance and done him in when he suffered a massive heart attack and he died on 29th May 1973 at the age of 44 years.

On the day he died, there was no rice in his house. And Saloma had no money for his funeral. The man and legend, P. Ramlee paid a very heavy price returning to Malaysia. The country just did not have the infrastructure, manpower and expertise to accommodate his enormous talent. He would have been better off in Singapore even with the unions there. He would not have gone broke in the club and wedding scene there and perhaps Singapore TV could have given him a break as compared to our own RTM. All the belated accolades and titles were a waste of time as far as the man himself was concerned. He died hopelessly broke and broken.

The documentary is not only an eye opener but a very good case study for anyone contemplating returning home to Malaysia. Whether you are a scientist, engineer, accountant, doctor, etc beware of the conditions enticing you to return. If your kid is an aerospace engineer, a naval architect or a transplant surgeon, it’s a no brainer that he /she should not return at all unless you are absolutely sure the country has the infrastructure and skilled manpower to support these fields. Don’t believe in these stories that you should come home to “help” and “develop” your areas of expertise. That’s not going to happen. That sort of thing will only go to the chaps who have the connections. Assess any offer carefully and do not trust anyone including this government. Make certain all agreements are enforceable in Singapore and the UK .

In retrospect P. Ramlee, with no formal education but was able to compose more than 360 songs and 66 movies, probably returned to a society that was not developed nor had the brain power and skills to match up to his vision. In short he was just surrounded with a whole lot of officials and journalists with serious hang-ups who were not interested in the industry itself. There was no driving force like another Shaw Brothers.

And the prevailing attitude at that time and probably even now was and still is a third class mentality. In an environment such as this, no one with creativity, innovation, skills and brains can ever hope to survive let alone thrive. Its better they stay back where they can develop and nurture their talent. If a star as bright as Ramlee could be extinguished with such impunity, the rest are nothing. Ramlee and his entire family had been wiped out financially despite his immense talent. But he remains still tall this day, the Malay Archipelago ’s cinematic legend. With apologies..

Hancur badan dikandung tanah
Budi baik dikenang juga
Biar alam hancur dan musnah
Jasa mu tetap dikenang juga

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://voicesofcornelius.blogspot.com/2010/11/broke-and-broken-should-p-ramlee-have.html' title='Repost: Broke and broken – should P. Therefore I could focus on what I do or even be sure of what I am capable of doing. Nor do I take my self seriously and stand strong for what I have believed in. I will doubt who I was and second guess myself for everything that I have set my mind on. I dwell in the assimilation of my own inner guidance and the reality of others. Therefore where am I to find the self and who am I to say for certain of who I am and what I do?

I used to be a very sensitive yet ruthless child. If you ever stop and stand under the sun you'll definitely find your own shadow being cast upon the ground/background on the opposite side of the light source. Have you ever observed the interplay between the light and the shadow?

The more intense the light, the clearer the shadow is. It had just dawn on me that this is the greatest lesson of being a human being. The more we bring light into our inner world, the more obvious it is of our shadow. We begin to see clearly the things that is unpleasant to us, what we don't like about ourselves and others. It almost felt like we can't hide anymore. Years back someone said to me, "the more I work on myself, the more I don't like myself!". Therefore some choose to quit or never to look into their inner world. The worst that I have seen are those who ran away into their own fantasy world created by themselves with glitters and blinks. Hoping that they would create enough light to disperse their shadow!

The only way out, really, is to understand the relationship between the light and the shadow. Let's look at that metaphor of your shadow under the sun. The shadow would not have existed if it weren't for "you" standing there! The need for the survival and mere existence of this little "i" is the the only thing that had blocked the sun from shining through. The more you study your own "shadow", the better you would understand what is blocking the "light" from shining into your essence. Hence the more you could allow yourself to be transparent to the light. Neither catching anything nor stopping anything from passing through.

With a little bit of polishing and cutting to perfection, soon you'll shine like a diamond! If you find yourself afraid of your own shadow, think again, it might be your gateway to new possibilities and a new life!

Aura-Soma 72 Angels "Chanting the Angels"

Religion vs Spirituality???

This I guess would be an age old debate and I have avoided this topic for years in my work as well as in any conversation with others. Simply because it is a taboo. Any point of view may trigger a strong reaction depending on what sort of past experience a person had. I simply leave out the conditioning of education and culture because through the understanding of reference point I realised the defensive energy comes from a misaligned vibration within ones system waiting to be restored to its equilibrium.

Many years ago a Buddhist nun who attended an interfaith meeting in Italy told us that during the discussion of religion and world peace; the came up with this conclusion "there are only 2 religion in this world, Peace or Violent". It got me thinking, when people can come to a common ground the differences aren't that great anymore; everything becomes simple! There are people who believe in peace no matter which religious background they are from, then there are those who don't.

Based on my own personal journey, I do not see religion and spirituality as 2 opposing stands. On the other hand they work hand-in-hand. It is through the foundation of religion that one explore the realm of spirituality. Whatever vehicle you may choose to enter come to a point of living a higher truth of your existence and gaining an understanding of the existences Itself. On the other hand, for those who explore into spirituality without a solid fundamental ground work may one day find themselves living in an illusion that they have created.

If you would explore further into every religion, there hidden in their doctrines and aged old practices lies a school of deeper study. A more serious endeavour of the dogmatic crust of the religion into the core of the religion itself. The true essence or nectar, the very reason why it existed in the first place and lasted for centuries. Although not everyone may agree or involve in such dedicated practices, it is only those who tasted the nectar could understand the sweetness of it. Until we have take that step into the doorway of transcending ones own way of looking at the world, one would never see beyond your own sights.

It is difficult to embrace a religion, therefore cherish it if you have already been "given" one! Yet it is even harder to surpass that mindset of differences and come to the state of oneness. That requires a shift in consciousness but it is achievable, no doubt.

In order to embrace ones true self (home coming) that is the path, unavoidable yet walkable; may be a road less travelled but you're always given the choice to choose a vehicle that suits you best!

May your joy in life carry a sense of peace and equanimity!

21 Days: Be A Cause of Peace

21 Days Be A Cause of Peace

This is an appeal for the peace and tranquility of the world in this time of transition. Before he left all the students of Mastering the Miraculous were doing a distance healing on her. This story signify a healing at the very core level and for the soul's highest purpose.

I thanks John for allowing me to share this story, as it can serve as a beacon of light within each and every souls who read this.

Hi All,
My mum in India passed away last Monday (17th ) at 7.45 pm Indian Time
(12.15 am EST Tuesday the 18th ). She was interred on the 18th according to
Christian Rites.

I wish to express my thanks to you for BEING with her ever since you came to
know about her during the final days of IA in May, soon after which as you
know, I left for India to visit her. I returned back to Melbourne in June.

I have no doubt that the "remote" healing that you did on her had a profound
effect on her, since I witnessed her feeling more and more at peace as the
days went by. While I was there, I guided her in releasing trauma that she
was still carrying from some events in her life (which I then intuitively
extended to her genetic line).

Her passing away awakened me to a unique lesson; that, after carrying out a
healing with the expectation of physical results, if a person subsequently
dies, it is not an indication of failure, but actually victory. It dawned on
me that, having cleared whatever was required to be cleared emotionally and
for her soul, there was no reason left for her to continue in her
physicality - it was time to go !!

The lead-up to her end was very smooth and peaceful. Just about 10 days ago,
she started slowing down in her mental and verbal interaction with the
outside world. Three days from the end, when the priest was called to give
her the last rites, she was conscious and visually responding to the prayers
being said. For the final couple of days, she was almost in a comatose
condition, but appeared very peaceful. There was no sign of any physical
pain whatsoever at any time; and in her final moments, the little drop of
her peaceful soul gently merged back into the ocean of the ONENESS. There
couldn't have been a better way to go.

Once again, my sincere thanks for being with us during this period.

Love and Blessings

In Our Divinity
John

Repentance

I recently received message of repentance and it's importance at this time of change. Most people view repentance as an act of making one feel guilty and hence being in a vulnerable state. In the thesaurus the word repentance is being associated with regret, shame and sorrow. It is exactly the opposite as the true meaning of repentance is to release and give the guilt and worries to the Divine. By doing so, one could only be stronger with inner strength. For the forgiveness from the Divine and the self sets you free and you are able to do what you always wanted. It is atonement to ones true being and the Creator that created all that is.

In the view of Catholic confession, no matter what it meant to people at different time and situation. It is an important exercise to seek forgiveness from God, and as important as it is that sense of forgiveness from the self. Therefore being honest to oneself is utmost important. The act of denying and deceiving oneself would bring about another level of guilt that requires forgiveness.

Being thankful for the chance to repent would bring powerful transformation in the healing of the timeline of our beingness. Burying the old you for the new you to move on. As important as forgiving onself, being able to forgive others is essential.

With LOVE

COPING WITH CRITICAL ILLNESS: WHAT DO I DO NOW? By JaneAnn Dow, Ph.D.

"Coping With Critical Illness" was to be published as pamphlets - to be distributed in medical service offices. Instead, it is offered here in two sections, What Do I Do Now? For a primary ill person - and What Do I Say Now? for family and friends. It is a handbook of sorts that I invite you to copy and circulate as you see fit. If this work is helpful and you would like to support this Web site that brings it to you, then please see: About JaneAnn Dow on this web site.

This information has been reviewed and approved by the following: Willard Dean, MD - Santa Fe, New Mexico Trevor Hawkins, MD - Santa Fe, New Mexico (AIDS specialist) Dr. Thomas Reece, Medical Director, Southwest Naturapalpathic Medical Center, Scottsdale, Arizona

You have just been diagnosed with a critical illness, quite possibly a terminal one and you say to yourself: What do I do now? A flood of emotion pours into your mind and heart. Tears may come quickly. You are completely stunned. For the first few hours following the news of your illness, nothing makes much sense. Who Should I tell, where do I start, what do I do now? This information may offer some of the answers to your immediate questions and give you something to focus on while you are hurled into an emotional abyss filled with confusion and anguish. There are treatments to plan amidst the commotion. There is much to be done, there are feelings to be felt. The first thing to remember is to take deep breaths. So often when we are overwhelmed, we forget to breathe. In the panic of a moment that can lead to hours, breathing will slow down the pace of emotion and help to abate you fears. The more you can remember to breathe, the easier the whole process of illness can be. Deep breaths calm you down and keep your mind in the moment. If you do not know whom to call or what should be done next, sit down and breathe. Get out a pad of paper and begin to write down names and numbers of family and friends, make a margin at the side to mark down who you have spoken to, believe me, it helps to begin to organize your life right away. Before you begin your calls, sit quietly and review what you are going to say and how you are going to say it. The calmer you are, the better your news will be received. You are suddenly in control of your life even if you do not feel in control! How you present yourself to those you love is very important. If you are hysterical, then they will be hysterical; if you are calm, they will be calm. It is all right to be either of these things, you just need to be prepared for the responses. "Oh, my God, I have just been told I have cancer, isn't that terrible, I am going to die, I am so upset and frightened, what am I going to do?" This is going to receive back: " Oh, that is awful, you must be terrified, what will you family do, is it going to be painful, how long did the Doctor say you had to live, oh, how sad."

Or it could go...

"Look, I called to tell you I went to the Doctor today and he said I have a problem, maybe a big problem. I wanted you to know about it before someone else told you. I am going into treatment soon and I may not be able to talk with you a lot, but I am sure I will be all right, I am keeping my hopes up". This will receive back: "Oh dear, I am so glad you called, I am praying for you this minute and please let me know what I can do to help, and yes, I am sure you will go through the treatments well." As in all of life, you receive what you put out into the world. In the early stages of diagnoses, it is important to stay as calm as possible and surround yourself with helpful and loving friends and family, not those who will feed off of your emotion and frighten you in return. Once you have everyone's attention, you must remember that their focus will be on you. You carry the burden, not only of the illness, but the fears of everyone around you. You can become the living example of their greatest concerns for themselves. This is a burden you carry or you can put aside, consciously. They will watch you for your reactions, for your bravery and for your weaknesses. It is up to you whether you allow this burden to wear you down, or take action to see and say exactly what you feel when it begins, and it surely will. You set the tone for your illness, whether it leads to wellness or to your death. Your journey is your own and if others overburden you with their emotions and fears, then you have to take charge. You will have to decide who is around you for your highest good and who is going along for an emotional ride. Be selective about your friends, even family members, who think they are helping can be very upsetting. In the beginning of all of this, everyone will show their true colors to you. Be cautious, be alert, be selective. Keep your support circle small, it cuts down on endless phone calls keeping everyone posted on your progress. Every time you have to go over what you are going through and feeling, you are filling your mind and heart with more anguish and pain. Every time you have to talk about your body, your body picks it up and stores up more and more reactive emotion to the problem. So, once your vast array of friends and family know about your illness, select only those who are light hearted and sharing for your support circle, giving supportive and let the rest fend for themselves.

Before you launch into treatment plans and schedules, it is a good idea to do some research on your illness. Your doctor will probably not have the time to explain everything and you are about to enter a world with a new language, one you most likely do not know. The more informed you can be about your illness Ñ it's history, the effects and results of treatments, and the many new words - the better off you will be and far less frightened. If you go into treatment or surgery knowing what is will be done, what the Doctors mean by what they say, how you may feel and what will happened to your body, the stress and pain that follow will be lessened. There should be as few surprises about your illness as possible. Visit a medical library, there is usually one at any university that has a medical school, or ask your local librarian for a referral. Now, with access to the Internet, there are even more ways to find the data you may need. Take the time to be informed, then when you do see your Doctor, you can ask insightful questions, helpful questions and receive better answers. Just knowing that you are critically ill and may die soon is not enough. You need to know as much as you can about what is wrong with you and what can be done about it. Ask your Doctor for names of other patients who have what you have, call them up, ask about their treatment plans and how they reacted to them medically and emotionally. This is your illness. You must own it. You need to be responsible and learn all you can about it!

It is not your Doctor's illness he is only the facilitator to your process. And he is not entirely responsible for your healing, you are. Ask as many questions of the Doctor and anyone else connected with you as you can, keep a notebook with you at all times, especially during Doctor visits. Write down your questions. Write down the answers. Keeping a journal about your illness will help you to see later how far you have come, what you have learned and how informed you really are. It is very important that you understand that the more you know about your body and your illness, the easier it will be and the less painful. Most pain comes from fear, fear of the unknown, fear of the pain itself. When you are stressful and anxious, your body becomes tense and that does not help the pain either The more relaxed you can be, the more you can breathe, the more calm you will be. When you are in great pain it is a good idea to breathe into it rather than to go away from it. Pain pills only mask the pain and eventually may become ineffectual. The more you can handle the pain on your own, the better off you will be.

In old movies, a stern faced Doctor would lean over his massive desk and say in a low, serious tone: You had better go home and get your things in order! This is his edict for your future, what future you have left that is. Getting your things in order goes well beyond your immediate household. You have a responsibility now, not only to your body and the illness held there, you have a responsibility to get all of your affairs in order. These things include your personal life, your finances, your relationships, your relationships, your family, your friends, and most of all, your spirit. Taking care of business, insurance and the like, is what most people think of as getting their life in order. It is ever so much more than that. The mundane finance world is important to settle, but once that is done, you must get on with the rest. Your family needs to know how you feel - what is in your heart, your deepest thoughts about loving them and your history. If you cannot tell them in person, write them a letter or open files on our computer. List the individuals you want to say things to and add to the information when you can. This is so important to those who love you. Sometimes family members can slip into denial and say such things as: "Oh well, you are really all right, nothing is going to happen to you, you will live forever." These utterances can place a greater burden on you and you must decide if this is what you really want, to carry your fears all by yourself. It is not always wise to martyr about your illness or your death. It can be overwhelming. It is important that your immediate family share in your illness, very important. It lessens your emotional load and invites them to open their hearts and help you. Their denial can become your burden, and you have enough to cope with already. If someone you love says you are all right, feel free to respond with "Well, you know, that is a lovely thought, but I am really not feeling well and a little fearful right now and what I need from you is to be here with me, not against me." Try to always speak from your heart about what you need, what is important to you rather than blaming another for seemingly not caring. "I feel sad when you say that I am not sick or should not be fearful, you do not validate my feelings. What I need is your support. Perhaps you do not understand what this illness is like for me. What can I tell you about it that will help you to understand?" If your family is unable to be supportive or you want to keep them from knowing our deepest fears, find a friend that will act as your confidant. Just tell them that you need them for a while, to talk to about your fears, our concerns, or even your pains, Friends you can afford to lose if the burden is too great, family may just be too close sometimes. You will have to decide which of those around you, family or friend, you can best count on. You are the center of all of their lives now, each as a role to play and you must be the one to cast the players. One person may just want to be with you, hold you and car for you. That may be all they can do. Another may want to talk about your illness, and another may want to cook, or clear or drive you to treatments. Each one may separately complete the wholeness you need in our light. No one person can to it all, be all that you need or want, unless you are fortunate enough to have a superman around. It is a big drama that is taking place, a cast of many who are suddenly immersed in your illness. Some will need direction from you, others will fill their roles naturally. Still there may be others you want around you just to play with and disregard the illness all together, even for a little while. Playtime is just as important as treatment time.

Finally, it is your spirit that needs attention, perhaps more than anything else. You need to get your beliefs in order, whether it is through a religion or your own inner thought. Who you are, how you have lived, how your are living now and most important, how you will die are all vital components to the wholeness of your spirit. All life living leads to death, no one has survived it yet! Your whole life is in preparation for your death, and yet most people never give it a thought until the very end of their lives. Death is a natural process that is so often feared and denied, that when the end comes, for many, it is rarely even discussed or considered. Here is the greatest journey of your life and you are not even packed!! When a child is born, great preparation is made, the room is readied, new clothes are set out, baby books are studied. Parents are prepared. Birth is anticipated with great detail and attention. When we go on vacation, we plan for weeks, envision what it will be like, think about the weather, what clothes to pack, what we will need. We spend much of our lives planning, organizing, projecting, dreaming. But when it comes to our own death, we are hopelessly at a loss. Some religions say that everything will be all right because Jesus, or Mary, or Muhammad or Buddha will be there and we need not be concerned. Angels will swoop down from heaven and carry us to God. We leave all of that to a belief, to a priest or pastor and we go on with our lives, leaving our very own death in someone else's hand. Just as we are in charge of our own living, we are in charge of our own dying. What we think or believe about it plays a large part in how gracefully we leave this planet. Would you have someone else pack for your vacation or plan your daily life? Now is the time to think about death, even if your fervent prayer is to live a longer and more fruitful life. Contrary to the belief of many, thinking about death does not create it! There are even some people who think that life insurance is bad luck. If mere thought could create death, there would be a whole lot less people on this planet! Whatever your beliefs or religion, your impending death requires attention. Who or what is waiting for you just ahead of this life is not as important as preparing for your final days on earth. The greatest enemy of peaceful dying is fear. Fears come from misunderstanding, from being unsure of what lies ahead, from not being prepared on a spiritual and emotional level for death. Sometimes the very religion that supports your living can crate fear in dying. Your beliefs need to be examined and carefully put in order that best suits you at this time. Beliefs, however, do not always prepare you for your final moments. Acceptance is the first step in preparing for your death. Yes, some day you will die, from the current illness or something in the future. Death is a fact of life. Once you understand and accept death the next thing to do is to read about it. Right now there are several good books written that address the process of dying, from acceptance, to meditations or exercises you can do to formulate your beliefs and make them work for you. There are also many books that cover the actual death, from seeing the Light and how to follow it and various other signs to consider and watch for as you draw near to your last breath. We are blessed to have these books right now, after so many years of darkness on the subject. You will find some of these books in regular bookstores, but a greater selection can be found in religious or metaphysical stores. Just as you must do your homework on your illness, you need to do your homework on your dying. There are excellent hospice programs in most communities. They are worth looking into, for your comfort and support during the final stages of your illness and our life. Hospice facilitators are trained and qualified to assist with the dying. Even if you choose to die at home with your family around you, hospice can greatly assist you and all of your family. Just as there is a lot of responsibility in living, there is just as much in dying. Whatever the outcome of your critical illness, you need to be prepared emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Paying attention to these four aspects of your life is the wholeness approach called Holistic Health. Seeing your illness from as many points of view as possible and taking responsibility to participate fully in it should now become your goal. There is nothing more frightening than to be told to 'get your things in order, you may die soon.' Get a hold of that fear as soon as you can, put it in perspective by not giving it too much attention and power over your life. Each time a wave of fear comes over you, take another deep breath and put the fear aside for another time, to deal with when you are feeling strong and wise. Above all, be proud of your accomplishments during your illness. See your strengths and weaknesses and decide which works better for you. Find something wonderful in every day, whether it is a good thought or a friendly smile that comes your way. Try to keep as positive as you can, yet acknowledge the negative and learn to deal with it. You cannot pretend that the illness does not exist or that it will not be difficult. Make the choice to make it though with as much dignity and love as you can. Look over your life and see all the good things you have accomplished and thought about and do not dwell on what you did not do or say. Illness offers you time to really think about your life, how wonderful you truly are and how much you love those around you and they love you. If you get angry and resentful about your death, you will greatly impede your progress and die a fearful and lonely death. This may be your greatest opportunity to teach those around you about courage and love. Trust and believe in the serenity and peace of death. Just as when you go to sleep at night and think lovely thoughts, your dreams are usually kind and loving. If you think angry thoughts, then you awaken the next morning fretful and tense. The same happens when you die. If you think about the wonders of life an death, take in all the love those around you give as they say goodbye with a heart full of love for you, then you take all that goodness and love with you. If you die a resentful person, hurt and depressed, think about what you will be taking with you as you leave this earth. You really are what you think. Thought is a powerful thing that forms your life and even your death. Be as prepared for your illness and your death as humanly possible. When you look back over your lifetime, fill your heart with pride and accomplishment. Take all the good things with you and leave the rest behind. The legacy you leave with those dear friends and family who will carry your memory in their hearts is determined by the love you share and give yourself as your final days draw near. Open your heart to receive from those around you and take their love and respect for you in your heart as you leave this world. It is just a small step from this reality to the next one. It may seem impossible to dance off the planet, but dream the impossible dream - make it happen. Your life is not ending, it lives on in the hearts of those you leave behind. Dying with dignity and grace is the greatest gift you can give to others. They will thank you for the rest of their days and be more prepared for their own death. What a blessing!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://voicesofcornelius.blogspot.com/2008/11/coping-with-critical-illness-what-do-i.html' title='COPING WITH CRITICAL ILLNESS: WHAT DO I DO NOW? As far out as that may seem to those of you who come across this web site, it has been an incredible journey of unfolding some of the mysteries and sufferings of our times.

My personal spiritual journey began with a severe spinal injury in my mid twenties. I was totally unprepared for the new life that would spring from this, beginning with my unexplainable lack of fear. I was young and strong. My body healed in nearly a year, but I did not heal my spirit, that part of my soul that held the life/death pattern of my very being. Busy with raising my two children and a career oriented husband, I paid little attention to the lessons I was to learn. I thought that physical survival was enough. Eight years later I collapsed into a near death experience - long enough to travel to the edge of consciousness and return with a vision of light and a kind of peace that is with me still. Within that vision was a scene, what I now call a 'death scenario' that later was to become the basis of my counseling critically ill children. However, in those 'ancient of days', a near death experience was unheard of, all I knew was that something quite special had happened. I began to search for a meaning, not only of my life, but of the experience - my spiritual journey had begun.

That same light that appeared in my vision began to appear in my mind's eye, the doorway to my intuition flew open. I discovered 'metaphysics', alternative healing and holistic health. It was all so comfortable, felt so right, so inspiring. I would silently ask a question, the answer would come into my mind. While conversing with friends, I saw colors around them, information in some kind of code, an inner sense of their well-being or an impending illness, even death. I knew these were spiritual gifts, I just did not know what to do with them! I set my intention on helping people to die, especially children. Helping not in the traditional sense of hospice, although that was just beginning to emerge as viable hospital counseling for the seriously ill. Somewhere there was an inner guidance that continued to place me in situations where I could learn and be of help, that guided me to where I needed to be! But I wanted more. Although I had graduated from UC Berkeley many years before, I decided to return to college for a graduate degree in Thanatology, it was there, studying the philosophy and psychology of death and dying, that my spirit soared. I spent two years creating a doctoral thesis on how to work with critically and terminally ill children in new and creative ways, including many holistic concepts. It was through the study of color therapy that opened the pathway to working with crystals.

It is at this time of my life that my book, Crystal Journey, begins, the story of how crystals and mineral stones became allies in counseling dying children. First it was quartz crystals that held my fascination, children saw stories inside of them, I projected color lights through the quartz and still new energies were apparent. We explored the mineral kingdom, looking for different colored minerals and finding their meaning. Together the children and I launched a new way of reaching their subconscious, a new way of gaining valuable information that was vital to their small souls, that helped them to understand what had happened to them from a different perspective, who they truly were and how they could die in peace. Sitting with the children during long treatments, we talked about feelings, about families, about what may happen to them. Children are so close to the Creator, they do not experience fear, only a wonderful kind of peace that was not unlike what I had experienced during my 'death journey'. It was a truly remarkable time.

It would be several more years before my kind of work would be accepted. Kindly remember that talking with rocks was, and still is, looked upon as quite strange! The words: "crystal healing" brings forth a variety of responses. So before you continue with this web site, I invite you to keep an open mind. If a strong reaction comes up for you, one of mistrust and misunderstanding, then please proceed with caution or not at all. This web site holds much of my life, over thirty years of experience and counseling, it holds my energy and my comittment to help heal my planet. Much of the information could be considered controversial, even nonsense! I can only respond that it works for me, and for many hundreds of clients I have seen over the years, people who have walked into my studio with the same trepidation and doubt as many of you who will read and experience my words.

Here are a few of the most asked questions:
Can a crystal heal my cancer? No, but a crystal or two may lead you to understand where it came from and why it manifested in your body.

Can a crystal take my migraine headaches away? Probably not, but along with other stones that you select, you many gain useful information about why they occur, what was going on in your life when they began and what can be done to ease the pain.

Can crystals heal a troubled relationship? Not likely, but during a crystal session, you may see the partnership differently or in a new light and learn how a partnership mirrors who you are.

Can a crystal session tell me what is coming up in my life? Yes, and not only that, you may discover what the block or resisstence is that keeps you from going on with your life plan.

Can the crystal and stones that I like, or own, tell about who I am? Yes indeed they can. Just as the colors you wear or prefer tell you about your energy, so can the stones and crystals that you have around you.

This web site is not just about crystals and stones, healing or selling books. It offers a communication link to explain my work, my experiences, my living philosophy. There are twelve selections to be made, some about healing, about death and dying and coping with critical illness, about how our other life expressions can influence our lives today. I am putting myself 'on-line' - to try to reach out with my work and understandings and to help a few folks along the way. I am exploring a new way to reach my world, through my crystals, my work and my word. I sincerely hope that you enjoy your spiritual journey.

You are invited and encouraged to download any of my materials.

In The Name of Love II

After many moons, I was going to give up writing a follow up about this topic. For a simple reason that it is a huge and wide scope of discussion.

Until I was asked by this friend of mine about this particular blog and what happened to part 2. I think I owe those who read this blog a good explaination of why I started the first part. At that time I was being thought about the issues of LOVE. Here we don't refer to love as only the romantic aspect of it, on most occassion romantic love is nothing but fulfilling the ego of the self. I know some might not agree when they read this sentence. Carefully examine your own thoughts and feelings when you feel that "love is in the air" kind of feeling; or that heart pounding, palm sweating, blushing like you're suffering from heat stroke moments. What is exactly going on in that moment, the NOW! What happened if that moment is taken away? How would you react? What makes you react that way? Of course by analyzing into the situation you're taking away that all that is within the excitement of being in love.

However if love is just that then all great spiritual teachers have long attain enlightenment. When we look at the facets of love in a very simple format, there are only 3 ways, 3 simple circuit system. Love to the self, love towards other (or between you and others), and Love to & from above (Divine).

Love towards the self
how are you treating yourself? Are you allowing yourself to received love? Do you wait for others to give you love? Do you go all the way to show your love? Are you worthy of giving and receiving love?

Love between you and others
What is your relationship with each of your family members, relatives, friends, schoolmates, workmates, neighbours, community........etc (you get what I mean). Are your interaction with these people out of love, or there's personal agenda? (Don't be surprise even if you are parents and found that your relationship with your children has some manifestation of ego. Sometimes we wish to show how important we are as a parent.) Are you allowing others to show love and affection? (We're not talking about stalker, those kind of love can drain your energy.) Do you see equality or oneness in this context?

Love from above
Your spiritual relationship. Are you feeling connected or separated from the source? This question can also be rephrase as, are you feeling connected to everything and anything in this entire universe, to all that is? Do you trust enough to surrender to Thy will? Or you are still struggling and trying to take control of your chaotic life? Do you know where you'll go? (after this life) Are you questionning about where you're coming from? Or why you're here? Do you cultivate unconditional love within you? How do you see your relationship with all that is?

I guess I have put down a basic guidelines for you to ponder, and you are already on the track, then I congratulate you. Of course there are more that what have been written about LOVE in this post. However that's for you to find out, certain thing can only be experienced and learned through experiences.

Creator of all that is..... Thank you, it's done!

In The Name of Love I

I was guided to make spray for the World Fairy Festival. I was working on one for love, the messages I was receiving weren't very clear. A sense of oneness plus a completely loving vibes. I was like just tell me what to add in the bottle. I have completely no idea of what it is going to be. Will it be specific for certain group of people? Or it's just a general unconditional love thing? Let it be what it will be!

However I was realising that I kept getting messages about love after that, from clients, friends, books, websites, movies, co-workers, etc. It appears to me everyone needs it, just different aspect of it.

I was then guided to call that spray "A New Love". This came when I was doing the label for the bottle. The message was "It is all aspect of love, love towards thyself, to love and be loved; and love from above." I was having that "Ah hah" moment, but "but" came! Who would use it? Too much love! People would runaway from it! (Sorry my mind as usual gets in the way!)

Well then I went along promoting it to people and most responses were "nice", "it's beautiful", and "it feels good". Only one person got it.

Then I was guided to give to 2 souls who at that time needed it. They had positive feedback. Both totally love the energy which help them throughout the day. One sprayed her space/home, her pets (both cats and dogs) ceased fire. Her pets were quiet and enjoying the new energy in the space. I was using it in a hotel room and that made me felt more at home. I know this begins to sound like a promotional write-up, but the intention behind it was making you realised the importance of being aware of that presence of love around us.

I will explain it in the second part of this writing.

Thank you Archangel Chamael......

My Birthday

It was an amazing 10 years for me, astrologically Taurus is moving out of the dark ages and shifting into a new paradigm.

This is a year for preparation, and I have been following the changes in life as well as going with the flow of the divine guidance.

On my special day this year and I haven't been seeing it as special for at least 4 years.

On the day itself, midnight 12 am, I was in Kuantan Terminal Makmur waiting for a bus to go back to KL. Never like being on a bus at night, prefer to be on bed. I took it anyway and reached Puduraya at 5 am in the morning.

Session 1
The taxi driver who took me home were trying to start a conversation and he went on to talk about his life and how difficult it is to survive nowadays. He can't even obtained his own license to own a taxi of his own. He's driving 16 hours per day just enought o support the family. Of course he went on to talk about politics and his own perception towards the current situation. He is very intellectual and well spoken. Being a therapist I practice active listening. As usual my clients are just happy to have someone who listened. So as we reach my place he came out and help me with my bags and thanked me with a smile of gratitude. Wonder if that's for lending my ears or using his service.

Session 2
I was with a friend for lunch and she picked 4 bottles but was refusing to read the obvious. Her normal "I don't know how to interpret" makes me wonder if I should feed her ego. I took a different approach to make her see that she's running away from her issues.

Session 3
I was going to Lightworks for after lunch, that lasted until 3pm. I got myself into a taxi with a passanger in front. My first thought was is this guy taking 2 passangers at once. Then the taxi driver uttered, "Sorry, this is my wife and my 2 children, younger one is almost 1 yr old and the elder one is 3. We have been chased out of our rented place last night." I was like :0

Then he mentioned that he had to pay the landlord RM450 by 7 pm to get into the house. I was also being careful about the kind of help I would offer as to be truely beneficial for the family. So I asked them if they want to go to a homeless shelter for the time being, for the good of the wife and the two children. He then ask his wife and the wife was requesting for the contact number. I had to call up my social work friends to ask for a shelter that take in the whole family. Finally I got the number and gave it to them, but the taxi ride cost me RM50 (plus donation lah!).

Session 4
I was then being brought to a pub at night to celebrate my birthday. There was a girl, friend's friend who were a bit high with the alcohol. She was telling her life story and wonder why I understood what she was going through. I said "ask your friend about what I do....".

All I could do is just being aware of these events and play along with it. I still figuring out what's the significant of these events on this very special day, at least I would consider it special this year. My experience was telling me to be at the moment and enjoy every bit of it. That is "experiencing", isn't it? So I asked myself.

I'm walking the path of light.....

Throughout our journey in life, life after life and life between life; what are we searching for? or are we searching at all?

If you take a walk in the garden, what would be the thing you're looking for? He was 79.

In 1970, Wu developed a new location-specific primer-extension technique that became the first method of sequencing DNA. In the following decade, Frederick Sanger adapted the approach for faster sequencing, and received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the work in 1980.
Wu's lab also devised other approaches that were used to analyze genetic sequences and to construct vectors for cloning genes, many of which remain in use. A 1985 paper from Wu's group describing the use of cDNA probes to analyze the evolutionary history of a gene family has been cited more than 1800 times.

Jack Szostak of Harvard Medical School, who worked in Wu's lab a Cornell University as a grad student and postdoc between 1973 and 1979, remembered his advisor as a person who gave people in the lab the freedom to explore ideas. "He was always encouraging and the lab was exciting because we felt that we were at the frontiers of science," Szostak wrote in an Email to The Scientist.

Wu's group used the novel genetic engineering techniques they developed to insert foreign genes into rice; the idea was to improve yields of cereal crops in the developing world. A technique he developed in 2002 for producing high-yield rice resistant to environmental factors such as drought, salinity and insect attack is now being developed for commercial use, Cornell geneticist Susan McCouch told the Los Angeles Times. "Where rice is grown, everyone knows Ray Wu," she said.

Wu was born in China in 1928 and came to the US when he was 20 years old. In 1966, he joined the biochemistry and molecular biology faculty of Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. In the 1980s, he founded and ran an initiative that brought more than 400 top Chinese students in biochemistry and molecular biology to train in the US. Throughout his career, he served on several Chinese, Taiwanese and international advisory councils on genetic engineering and biotechnology.

Wu is survived by his wife and two children.

Colours- the code of human soul

We are created with the ability to perceive colours through the windows of our souls. Our eyes were designed to decode the colour spectrum. Think of the visual ability of other animals. A cat's colour vision is like a colour blind human being. Same goes for man's best friend, they cannot perceive red and green as we do.

Therefore a full colour spectrum becomes different tones of yellow and blue. Colours speak to us differently. We are greatly affected by what we see most of the time, we can get agitated or iritated over a look; what more to say the colours that exist subtly in the background of everything in our environment. Most of us can associate one or more emotions to a particular colour, and vice versa.

Just try and imagine this, every morning when you wake up in the morning what is the first thing you see and what is the colour? As you get up what is the colour of your bedsheet? As you walk to the bathroom, what are the colour(s) you see? Some of us have more colourful bathroom than others. As you pick up your toothbrush, what colour is it? What colour is your shampoo, soap, shower gel, bath tub, shower screen......etc. As you pick your clothes, you are actually picking the colour(s) that represent you for the day.

Ever wonder WHY you have those colours around you? Why you pick them in the first place. What was the feeling at that time, and how do you feel now as you look at a particular piece in your living room or bed room?

If this doesn't convince you how significant colours are in our daily life, some people claimed that we dream in colour, not black and white. Even our unconscious mind works with colour! Pay attention to those colours that you see very often now. Almost like these colours are poping up here and there in front of your eyes. Ask yourself what each colour meant to you, our how do you feel when you see it? Work on the issue(s) with a lot of love and forgiveness.

Be a COLOURFOOL!

Colour Your Soul 101

Colour Your Soul 101
- A Colourful Journey into Your Soul

This 2 days workshop is aimed to take you on a journey of colour, using colour as a tool to self discovery and healing. He integrated his knowledge and understanding of the cause and effect of life in these 64 wall paintings. The interpretations of these paintings were found in his notes, which incorporated the 64 hexagrams of I-Ching and Zen teaching. This is a perfect in-depth blend of Buddhism and Taoism from the Chinese tradition. Each card also comes with a zen proverb to gain greater insight into a particular situation.

This deck is exceptionally good for understanding your current circumstances and the causing factors. Prior to that clutter clear if your need to. Pick a spot that need improvement or an uplift of energy. Create a mandala with the energy that this space would need.

Choices of Mandala:
You can choose to create any type of mandala you want. Cheapest tools are colour pencil, crayon and water colour. You can also create a flower mandala is you aimed to have a change every couple of days. You can do flower arrangement or cut flowers floating in a nicely decorated basin with candles. You can create a crystal mandala forming a crystal grid of your choice. Use aura-soma bottles if you like, specially arrange with all your heart to energise that corner of your house. Try making a sun catcher or a batique if you are into handicraft.

Do whatever that makes your heart sing; the greatest guide is from within.

Colourfool!

The Fool in a Tarot deck symbolizes the beginning of a journey, a person’s journey into his/her own soul. As we take ourselves through the journey of life, we see our world through different colour filters; we see the world from different angles and different perspectives. We sometimes look at people, relationships, incidences and situations through a particular colour. In order for us to see the world in differently we must try and put on different shades or filters. However, in order to be in harmony with other beings and our environment we must be able to see the world in a wider spectrum, to have more than a panoramic view. This will allow us to see the true colours and true nature of existence.

We are unique beings of the universe, “beings of light” that’s how they put it, but we might reflect more of one colour at any one time. Eventhough we were created to perceive colours inside and outside. However we will introspectively come to realization that we are actually full of colours, the whole spectrum, we will see that we are actually colourful beings. I have seen leaders at different levels and from different background. Generally there are two types of leader, those who understand the cause, and those who are the cause.

Those who understand the cause, or at least trying to understand it, are able to see the big picture and pay attention to little things at the same time. They know "what they are doing?", "why they are doing it?" and "what is the best way to do it?".

Those who becomes the cause are those who make things happened but not able to see the big picture nor taking care of little things. BUT they would say otherwise.

Most leaders are trained to be result oriented and not be humanistically inclined. It is nurturing that male authority aspect with the ability to pay attention to all aspects, and recognised that empowerment brings about transformation which is the true quality of a good leader.

The quality of a leader does not confined to workplace or organisations. Its reflections can be seen in all aspects of life, in all levels of your human interactions, like a multifacet diamond that shine from a single light source.

How do you lead your life?
What kind of leader are you in your family, office, among friends, and with your loved ones?
What is your belief system in relation to leadership?
What is your common obstacle in relation to leadership?
What do you hope to change?
How can you improve your current situation?

Aura-Soma Colour Care System

Mirror of Your Soul- Aura-Soma Consultation

AURA-SOMA® is colour for everyone; a non-intrusive and self-selective system in which colour is the key. She wanted me to do a healing on her. As she got on the massage table, I place the Chakra Set underneath the massage table. I positioned them according to patient's chakra but in the arrangement similar to them sitting on their shelves of a currium (ie. not in one straight line).

I grounded and shielded myself, then started the process of invocation. Then perform energy work as usual.

Shirley claimed that she could feel the energy gushing from the ground (bottle) almost immediately as she lain comfortably on the bed. I felt a stream of energy flowing through and around the patient. I was guided to work on the soul star and the earth star to facilitate the chakra balancing process in later part of the work.

Then I proceeded by sweeping the auric field. Afterward, I started balancing her chakra with both hand, one on base chakra, one on crown chakra; working towards heart chakra and outwards. As I moved outwards and reached the crown and base again, I was trembling with a gush of energy flowing from the crown to the base, through me. My fingers and ears were numbed.

I used an imaginery pendulum, from my hands, to fine tune every chakra from base chakra to crown chakra. I saw the chakra color in my third eye and see the pendulum spinning just right underneath my two palms.

After grooming her auric field, I then allowed her to re-orientate herself.
